Cherokee personnel responded to a broad range scope including major renovations on the third, fifth and sixth floors of the William H. Natcher Building (Building 45 on the National Institutes of Health's (NIH's) Bethesda Campus).

Project Highlights:

  • A/E design for the renovation of an existing facility

  • Construction Administration Services

Third Floor and Fifth Floor – Complete A/E design and construction administration services for this 12,000 ft2 renovation project. The design provided the client with 50 systems furniture workstations, 17 private offices and 2 conference rooms. New carpet and paint was provided throughout; as well as modifications to the existing acoustical tile ceiling system. Mechanical, Fire Protection and Electrical engineering services were provided to accommodate the revised floor plan.


Sixth Floor and Fifth Floor
– Complete A/E design and construction administration services for this 25,000 ft2 renovation project. The design provided the client with 106 systems furniture workstations, 28 private offices and 5 conference rooms. Mechanical, Fire Protection and Electrical engineering services were provided to accommodate the revised floor plan.

Cherokee not only provided the fire protection design but also coordination with the design team to ensure cross-discipline code compliance with the typical industry fire protection codes and standards.
